Terms of Service
These terms govern your access to and use of Resensor's external attack surface management platform and related services.
Welcome to Resensor. By creating an account, accessing the service, or using any part of the platform at resensor.io or app.resensor.io (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to both you and that organization.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Resensor provides an external attack surface management (EASM) platform that helps you discover internet-facing assets associated with domains and other identifiers you provide, and surfaces security findings, vulnerabilities, and exposures associated with those assets. The specific features available to you depend on the subscription plan you select.
2. Accounts & Organizations
To use the Service you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly at [email protected] of any suspected unauthorized access.
The Service supports multi-tenant organizations. The user who creates an organization (the "Owner") may invite additional members, assign roles, and is responsible for the actions of all members within that organization. Seat limits, target limits, and scan quotas are determined by the organization's subscription plan.
3. Authorized Use & Scanning
You may only use the Service to scan, assess, or otherwise interrogate assets that you own or for which you have explicit, documented authorization from the owner. By submitting an asset (such as a domain, IP address, or other identifier) to the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You own the asset, or you have explicit written authorization from the rightful owner to perform security assessments against it;
- Your use of the Service against that asset complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and third-party terms;
- You will not use the Service to attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any system.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to, and not to permit any third party to:
- Use the Service to violate any law, regulation, or the rights of any third party;
- Submit targets you are not authorized to assess;
- Use scan results or other Service output to attack, exploit, or compromise any system;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent permitted by applicable law;
- Circumvent rate limits, plan quotas, or any technical access controls;
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties without a written agreement permitting you to do so;
- Use the Service to develop a competing product;
- Upload or transmit malware, spam, or content that infringes the rights of others.
5. Plans, Billing & Refunds
Paid subscriptions ("Pulse", "Sentinel", and any other plans we may offer) are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By starting a paid subscription you authorize us to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You may cancel a subscription at any time through your customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Unless required by applicable consumer-protection law, fees already paid are non-refundable, and partial-period refunds are not provided. We may change pricing with at least thirty (30) days' notice; changes apply to the next renewal.
If a payment fails and is not corrected, we may suspend or downgrade your subscription. Free-tier accounts may be subject to additional limits or rate restrictions, and we may discontinue any free tier with reasonable notice.
6. Your Data
"Customer Data" means the targets, configuration, and other content you submit to the Service, along with the scan results and findings generated for your organization. You retain all rights in Customer Data. You grant Resensor a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display Customer Data solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service for you.
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7. Confidentiality & Security
We will use reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect Customer Data against unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. You acknowledge that no security measure is perfect and that you submit Customer Data at your own risk.
If you discover a vulnerability in the Service, please report it responsibly to [email protected]. Do not exploit the issue beyond what is necessary to demonstrate it.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all software, designs, documentation, vulnerability rule sets, branding, and other materials, is owned by Resensor or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service for your internal business or personal purposes during the term of your subscription.
We may use anonymized, aggregated information derived from your use of the Service to operate, secure, and improve the Service, including vulnerability and exposure research, in a manner that does not identify you or your organization.
9. Feedback
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose, including improving the Service.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers for hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and other functions (for example, Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, Stripe, and our transactional email provider). Your use of features that integrate third-party services may be subject to those providers' terms.
11. Suspension & Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if your account creates risk or legal exposure for Resensor or other users, if a payment fails and is not corrected, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends and we may delete Customer Data in accordance with our retention practices.
12. Warranties & Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Resensor disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy.
We do not warrant that the Service will identify every vulnerability or exposure, that scan results will be complete or free from false positives or false negatives, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Security findings are informational only and do not constitute professional security advice. You are responsible for verifying findings and for any remediation decisions.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither party will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Each party's total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to Resensor for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to liability, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
14. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Resensor and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any third-party claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your scanning of any target without authorization, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service from time to time, including by adding, removing, or changing features. We may also update these Terms. If we make a material change, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by email to the address on your account or by posting a notice in the Service). Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Resensor is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that jurisdiction for any dispute that is not subject to arbitration or small-claims court, except where applicable law gives consumers an unwaivable right to bring claims in their place of residence.
17. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any order form or written agreement between us, constitute the entire agreement between you and Resensor regarding the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Notices to Resensor should be sent to [email protected].
